On-page SEO is everything you control on the page itself. Run this checklist before you publish; it takes ten minutes and prevents most ranking problems.

From my own work: I run this exact list on every post I publish, and an audit of my own older posts showed missing descriptions and weak internal links were the most common gaps.
Search snippet (4 checks)
- Title unique, under about 60 characters, main topic first (Google’s title guidance).
- Meta description that honestly summarises the page in about 150 characters.
- Short, readable URL with the topic words.
- Canonical points to the page itself.
Content quality (5 checks)
- Answers the search intent in the first screen.
- Adds something original: your experience, examples, screenshots or data (see Google’s helpful content guidance).
- Facts are accurate and sourced to trusted references.
- Shows who wrote it and why they are qualified (author box, about page).
- No duplicate or near-duplicate page on your own site.
Structure (3 checks)
- One H1; H2/H3 in logical order.
- Short paragraphs, lists and tables where they help.
- A clear next step (read more, contact, subscribe).
Links (3 checks)
- 2 to 5 internal links with descriptive anchor text (see keyword research).
- Links to authoritative sources where useful.
- No broken links.
Media and speed (3 checks)
- Images compressed, with width/height and descriptive alt text.
- Mobile layout tested on a real phone.
- Passes Core Web Vitals; do not lazy-load the top image.
After publishing
Request indexing in Search Console, share the page, and review impressions after a few weeks. Technical issues beyond the page are covered in the technical SEO audit checklist.
Need help with this on your own site or business?
I build and secure WordPress sites, web apps and AI automations end to end, in Bangla and English. The process is a free discovery call, a written scope with a fixed quote, a focused first version, then testing, deployment and monitoring.

FAQ
Does meta description affect ranking?
It is not a direct ranking factor, but a good one improves clicks.
How long should a post be?
As long as needed to answer the question well; length itself is not a goal.
Do I need schema markup?
Basic Article and breadcrumb markup helps; add other types only when the content truly fits.
